Alan Davies wants his daughter to play for Arsenal Ladies

Alan Davies has become a father for the first time.

The Jonathan Creek star's wife Kate Maskell gave birth to a girl called Susie this week.

‘Thanks everyone, mother and baby doing well,' Alan, 43, wrote on Twitter.

‘I have changed nappies already. My daughter, I notice, is praised for passing wind, unlike her dad.'

His QI colleague Stephen Fry has extended his congratulations.

‘Yay! alandavies1 is a proud papa,' he wrote. ‘A girl cub. Little Susie. I'm already knitting bootees. But not pink.'
