Simon Cowell is a fan of Girls Aloud

Simon Cowell wants to introduce a Girls Aloud-themed week on The X Factor.

The pop mogul, 50, reckons it would be a hit with viewers.

‘We always try to give the public good songs, so we suggest a group that have had a lot of hits,' Simon explained on ITV2 spin-off The Xtra Factor.

‘In three or four years, I guarantee that we will have a Girls Aloud night.'

Later, Simon brought the date forward to 2010.

‘If we are back next year, we'll have a Girls Aloud night,' he said.

Fellow judge Cheryl Cole, 26, is a member of the group.
