Peter Andre was asked to appear in the new 2009 series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

But the singer - who met ex-wife Jordan, 31, in the jungle in 2004 - thought it would be a bad idea.

‘I was approached by ITV to do the show 3 months ago,' says Pete.

‘But I said no straight away. For me, it would be like going backwards and - as much as I love the people at ITV - I am keen to move forward.'

Peter, 36, isn't planning to tune in to see how Jordan gets along in the camp.

‘In terms of how I think she'll do on the show - no comment,' he writes in his new! diary.

‘The kids will be in bed by the time it's on every night, so they won't be watching it, but I'll obviously let them see any messages she gives them.'
