Tupele Dorgu quits Coronation Street

Actress is ready to try new projects

Tupele Dorgu plays Kelly Crabtree in Coronation Street

Tupele Dorgu is leaving Coronation Street.

The actress will not renew her contract when it ends in early 2010.

‘I feel privileged to have been part of such an iconic show,' Tupele, 31, tells The Sun.

‘I'm grateful to everyone at Coronation Street for the opportunities I have been given.

‘I have decided to leave and I'm very excited about seeking new challenges and opportunities within the industry.'

Tupele has played factory worker Kelly Crabtree in the ITV soap for the past five years.
