Singer got support from Cheryl Cole
Wednesday, 14 October 2009
Alesha Dixon admits she was in tears over the criticism she received following her Strictly Come Dancing debut.
Viewers complained about the singer after she replaced judge Arlene Phillips, 66, on the show.
‘I cried,' says Alesha, 31. ‘It was the second weekend of Strictly, before I went into the BBC, and somebody wrote something nasty and it set me off.
‘Pathetic, I know, but I'd had a week of "can't take it no more" and then I read that and it just set me off.'
Alesha's pal Cheryl Cole, 26, who scaled Kilimanjaro with her, offered her support.
‘I got a text saying, "You climbed that mountain and nothing's harder than that,"' she says.
‘And she's right! We're talking about a Saturday night entertainment show here.'
