Desperate Housewives spin-off in the works?

Creator said to be working on new project

Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry was a staff writer for The Golden Girls

A new Desperate Housewives spin-off is reportedly being developed.

Creator Marc Cherry is said to be in talks with US network ABC about the project.

His pal Alexandra Cunningham is believed to be on board as a co-producer.

If it gets the green light, the programme is expected to launch next autumn, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The new show will apparently have the same tone as the original.
