Strictly Come Dancing star felt awful after incident

Brendan Cole thought the chicken was tasty

Brendan Cole is shown killing a chicken for a new documentary.

The Strictly Come Dancing star was filmed stoning the bird with a catapult for a Television New Zealandtravel show.

Brendan, 33, also wrings the rooster's neck and beats it with a stick while exploring the remote Pacific islands of Vanuatu and adhering to the local custom.

‘It feels really awful,' he says on the programme. ‘But if you are going to somebody's village you have to embrace everything they do.'

Brendan, who's teamed up with Jo Wood on Strictly, later ate the chicken.

‘I've never killed an animal with my bare hands,' he says. ‘Well, I did shoot a bird once but it was kind of by accident as a 14-year-old and I cried like a girl when I did it.'
