Boris Johnson plays himself in the soap

Boris Johnson makes a cameo appearance in BBC1 soap EastEnders next week.

The Mayor Of London pops into the Queen Vic pub and chats with landlady Peggy Mitchell, played by actress Barbara Windsor.

'It was, of course, a tremendous honour to step inside that most venerable of London landmarks, The Queen Vic, and share a scene with another of the capital's icons, the fabulous Barbara Windsor,' says Boris.

The episode airs on Thursday 1 October at 7.30pm.
