BBC soap to broadcast real-time episode for 25th anniversary special

EastEnders has been on our screens since 1985

EastEnders is set to broadcast a live episode to mark the show’s 25th anniversary.

The exciting 30-minute show will air next February during a week of special episodes to celebrate the occasion.

The plot for the special is yet to be announced but BBC producers have promised viewers it will be the big finale to a major drama.

‘It’s too early to discuss the exact storyline at this point, but viewers are assured that this live episode will bring them all the high drama and excitement they expect from EastEnders and then some,’ says executive producer Diederick Santer.

‘The episode will feature the resolution to a big storyline which will keep the audience (as well as the cast and crew) guessing until the very last moment.

‘It’s a big test for every member of the production here, and hopefully a big treat for the audience.’

The live episode will be broadcast live from BBC Elstree studios on Friday 19 February 2010 at 8pm.
