Rumours Kerry Katona will join Coronation Street rubbished

Granada says story is untrue

Kerry Katona was recently dropped by Iceland

A claim that Kerry Katona is being lined-up to appear in Coronation Street is nonsense, says Granada.

Bosses were said to be interested in casting the 28-year-old as a fiery newcomer, similar to show legend Cilla Battersby-Brown. 

‘There are a number of plans for new characters joining the programme and it was felt she could be bang-on for someone like Cilla,’ a source claimed in the Daily Star. 'Loud, brash, screeching and wicked.'

But there's no truth in the story at all, says the TV show's press office.

Meanwhile, Kerry reportedly plans to write a follow-up to her 2006 autobiography Too Much, Too Young.

It’s thought one publisher has offered her a £375,000 advance.
