Claire Young is backing Sir Alan Sugar in his new job as a government business advisor.
The tycoon, 62, has come under fire from critics who claim that he cannot continue fronting The Apprentice without compromising the BBC's impartiality.
‘I think Sir Alan’s appointment is a positive step and much needed,’ Claire, 29, tells Now Online.
‘Sir Alan taking part in a TV show has nothing to do with it in the grand scheme of things.
‘It’s just politicians doing the usual – talking a load of hot air instead of focusing on what’s really important.'
Claire is taking part in Run 10k for Cancer Research UK. There are 43 events across the UK this autumn and Cancer Research UK hopes that 60,000 men and women will come together to raise over £6million to help fund its life-saving work. To sign up visit www.run10k.org.
