Cheryl Cole tipped to perform debut single on The X Factor

Singer's fellow judges said to be supporting her

Cheryl Cole performed Promises with Girls Aloud on The X Factor last year

Cheryl Cole could launch her solo career on The X Factor.

The Girls Aloud star, 26, releases her debut album next month and Simon Cowell's apparently keen for her to promote it on the show.

The singer's also said to have the support of fellow judges Louis Walsh, 57, and Dannii Minogue, 37.

‘When she told Simon her album was due out next month, he said she must do the show,’ an insider tells the Daily Mirror.

‘She is nervous because she will be performing for her peers - and there is always the fear that Simon may say something catty. But so far he has been nothing but supportive.

'Cheryl can do no wrong in his eyes and he wouldn't want to humiliate her.’

Cheryl’s album could go head-to-head in the charts with her winning act Alexandra Burke.
