Chris Brown’s sentencing has been postponed by three weeks.
LA Judge Patricia Schnegg is allowing authorities in Virginia more time to assess whether Chris, 20, can carry out his community work in his home state.
The singer admitted one count of felony assault against ex-girlfriend Rihanna, 21, in June.
He is expected to get five years' probation and six months of community service.
Meanwhile, Rihanna’s lawyer says it wasn't their idea to make Chris stay at least 50 yards from her.
‘If asked, we will tell the court that all that's necessary is a level-one order: That Brown not annoy, molest or harass her,’ Donald Etra tells People.
‘No stay-away order was ever requested by Rihanna, nor did she ever believe it was necessary.’
