Producers apparently didn't meet pay demands

Paula Abdul has shocked fans by resigning from American Idol.
The judge, who has been part of the show since 2002, won’t be renewing her three-year contract.
‘With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to #IDOL [sic],’ she writes on Twitter.
‘I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day one become an international phenomenon.
‘What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me. It truly has been breathtaking, especially over the past month.’
Paula’s decision to leave apparently came down to money.
It’s thought she asked for $20million to return to the show – but producers would only offer her half.
Meanwhile, host Ryan Seacrest has signed a $45million three year contract.
