Gethin Jones: Alesha Dixon will be great on Strictly

Former Blue Peter presenter supports singer

Gethin Jones took part on Strictly Come Dancing in 2007

Gethin Jones reckons Alesha Dixon will do a great job on Strictly Come Dancing.

The singer, 30, has replaced Arlene Phillips, 66, on the judging panel.

‘Despite all the hoo-ha the papers have made, I’m sure [the viewers] will enjoy the 7th series as much as the 6th,’ Gethin tells Now Online.

‘I’m sure it’ll be very different and I look forward to seeing how she gets on.’

But Gethin, 31, who came third in 2007 with Camilla Dallerup, doesn't want to follow in Alesha's footsteps.

‘Dancing is scary enough, I’ll leave the judging to the professionals,’ he adds.

Gethin will cycle over 500 miles this summer to support Skyride, an initiative to promote cycling as a means of transport. For full details go to www.goskyride.com.
