Nasty Nick cancels Big Brother appearance

Ex reality show star is replaced by Craig Phillips

Former Big Brother housemate ‘Nasty’ Nick Bateman pulled out of a scheduled appearance on the show yesterday.

The 41 year-old was due to take part in the 10th anniversary celebrations.

But he cancelled when he found out he would have to do another assault course challenge.

'I pulled out because they did not tell me what the task entailed until I found out in the papers on Sunday,' he tells the BBC.

'As I didn't perform well in the task back then, it's highly unlikely I'd perform it well again and they obviously knew that and chose to withhold it from me.'

Nick, who was replaced by BB1 winner Craig Phillips, denies there was a dispute over money.

'It wasn't a factor - I would have appeared it that was not the task,' he says.

Ex housemates taking part are unpaid, with a donation made to Jade Goody’s foundation instead.

But Nick's spokeswoman insists he was unaware his appearance would raise money for charity.

‘It wasn't transparent,’ she tells The Press Association.

Nikki Grahame and Brian Belo will also revisit a memorable task.
