Show will be broadcast on Thursday instead
Thursday, 9 July 2009
Coronation Street is losing its traditional Wednesday evening slot in the ITV schedule.
The show will break with almost 50 years of tradition to make way for football matches.
Corrie will now be shown on Thursday at 8.30pm, in ITV's bid to make the night 'drama focussed'.
Emmerdale has also been affected, and will now be screened as two half-hour shows at 7pm and 8pm, instead of one.
The Tuesday night programme will also be reduced to a 30-minute instalment.
