Fern Britton: I want This Morning successor to have a great time

But presenter knows she'll be compared to newcomer

Fern Britton used to present Ready, Steady, Cook

Fern Britton is happy to step down as the host of This Morning.

The presenter, 51, will leave the ITV show on 17 July.

‘I want my successor to have a great time - the moment's right for someone else to have a go,’ she tells TV Times.

‘The next thing will be a comparison between me and the goddess who replaces me on This Morning. But that's fine.’

Holly Willoughby, 28, is tipped as favourite to join the show.
