Phillip Schofield was left red-faced when his car came to a standstill yesterday.

The This Morning host had to call the AA after he filled the tank with petrol instead of diesel.

‘Note to self, don’t put unleaded in a diesel, it REALLY screws up your Sunday!!!’ he wrote on Twitter.

‘Just forgot which car I was in as I tried to decide whether I wanted wine gums or crisps! A***!’

Phillip, 47, later wrote: 'Car is being drained and flushed this morning. I'm still a bit flushed with shame and drained of about 300 quid.’
