Declan Donnelly: I liked girls too much to be a priest

Britain’s Got Talent presenter nearly joined the church

Declan Donnelly was raised in the Catholic faith

Declan Donnelly thought about becoming a priest.

But the Britain's Got Talent presenter chose not to when he realised he'd struggle to lead a life of celibacy.

‘At my school, St Cuthbert’s, they’d have these assemblies where they’d talk about vocations; whether or not you had a vocation for being a priest,' Dec, 33, tells Live magazine.

‘I’d think about it for a few hours then I’d go home and see the girls from Sacred Heart School on the bus and I’d realise it wasn’t for me.'

Dec is currently dating Sky Sports News anchorwoman Georgie Thompson.
