Paul rates Susan Boyle but not as highly as the 12-year-old
Thursday, 28 May 2009
No one knows what Susan Boyle’s going through better than Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts.
The Bristol-born former mobile phone salesman opened his mouth on the show two years ago – and surprised the judges just as much as Susan did this year.
‘The first time I stepped on stage, Simon rolled his eyes,’ says Paul. ‘The same thing happened to Susan – and look at her now!’
Susan, a 48-year-old one-time charity worker from Scotland, has taken the UK by storm, cementing her place as the favourite to take the BGT title.
‘She’s great,’ says Paul. ‘It’s hard to find the nation’s press, but she’s handled it really well.’
Despite his success and the release of his second album Passione, Paul is sure he'll keep his feet on the ground. Any advice for the 2009 hopefuls?
‘Enjoy it because you never know how long you’ll be in the spotlight,' he says. 'Many people could win, including Susan – and my favourite, Shaheen!’

I heard "the kid". You don't know at his age how his voice is going to change once he passes puberty. His voice may not be there. YOu of all people should know that.
I'm not going to buy Paul Pott's new cd now.
Shaheen's last performance was poor. Have a listen again. Shouting and screaming with no control. No vocals, no singing. This is why he came second - not first!
Shaheen is amazing.
