Fern Britton’s on the brink of her biggest crisis to date as cracks have started to appear in her marriage to Phil Vickery.

They couple clashed off-air last month while while filming This Morning because the TV chef cut in over her during a link, says Now's source

'The crew were stunned as they'd never heard a cross word between them before.'

Last July, Now revealed that the pair have been sleeping in seperate bedrooms because of her snoring and work hours, although there's no suggestion they'll split.

Phil, 48, and the children – twins Jack and Harry, 15, Grace,11, and Winnie, seven – want the 51-year-old to enjoy home life more and just be a mum instead of always being ‘Fern Britton’.

The stress at home has come at a terrible time for 51-year-old Fern, who’s worried about leaving This Morning to present BBC1’s new Saturday night flagship show with T4 hunk Steve Jones, 32.

‘She’s taking a huge pay cut of £500,000 to join the BBC and that makes her nervous,' says Now's source, 'especially when fewer shows are being commissioned and budgets are being cut. She hasn’t got anything else in the pipeline apart from maybe another cookbook with Phil.

‘No one’s heard a word about the oversize clothes range she was meant to be bringing out. She’s also struggling to get new endorsements, as her name’s still synonymous with Ryvita.'
