TV presenter claims that she was misquoted
Tuesday, 19 May 2009
Davina McCall has set the record straight about Big Brother’s future.
Last week, the presenter was reported to have suggested it was coming to an end in 2010.
But she insists she wants it to keep going.
‘I was misquoted. I said “It’s contracted to Channel 4 until next year,”’ she says.
‘I really hope ratings do well this year so they will renew the contract and then we’ll be back.’
Davina, 41, who has presented the show since its launch in 2000, claims that she is more than willing to continue fronting the series.
‘In my heart I am committed to Big Brother for the long term,’ she tells the Daily Star. ‘The reality is that they renew my contract every year.’
Big Brother series 10 starts on 4 June.
