Britains Got Talent star translated for US audience
Tuesday, 12 May 2009
Susan Boyle appeared on Oprah Winfrey's chat show – and ended up being subtitled.
Bosses felt US viewers wouldn’t understand the Britain's Got Talent star’s Scottish accent.
So they translated her for a pre-recorded piece.
Susan, 48, later spoke to Oprah, 55, live via a satellite link-up.
The chat show host was joined by Simon Cowell, who said he was shocked by Susan's fame in the US.
'So I'm sitting in bed in America one morning watching the news, and I'm watching Susan Boyle from Scotland,' he told Oprah.
'It was the most surreal thing that ever happened.'
