Luke Tittensor pleaded guilty to GBH

Emmerdale star Luke Tittensor has received a 9-month suspended sentence for GBH.

Last month, the actor, 19, pleaded guilty to attacking a 16-year-old in Lancashire on 15 February 2008.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, suffered a broken jaw.

Yesterday Luke was told he must complete 200 hours unpaid work and pay £1,000 compensation to the victim for the assault.

‘This poor boy has suffered a full assault, serious injury, surgery, and he is generous enough to say all he wants you to do is accept your responsibility, which in fact you have,’ Judge Lindsey Kushner QC told Luke at Bolton Crown Court.

‘But my responsibility is different. I have to demonstrate to the public that whether you are famous or whether you are unknown, the court has to take a dim view of this behaviour.’

Luke, who will also have to cover the £1,100 legal costs, was sacked from Emmerdale last week over the incident.

He had played Daz Eden since the age of 13.
