Ricky Gervais to appear on SpongeBob SquarePants

Comedian is chuffed

Ricky Gervais shot to fame starring in The Office

Ricky Gervais is to lend his voice to cartoon series Spongebob Squarepants.

The comedian will appear in the show's 10-year anniversary episode.

‘I can retire now,’ Ricky quips.

‘I've turned down about 25 films this year because I'm too busy, but there are some things that you say yes to without thinking. It's only a little cameo but it's such an honour.’

Ricky has previously featured in The Simpsons and he recorded an appearance on Sesame Street in March.

Johnny Depp, Scarlett Johansson, David Hasselhoff and David Bowie have also made cameos on Spongebob Squarepants.
