Kate Winslet was teased about her weight as a child.
The Oscar-winning actress was nicknamed Blubber and locked in an art cupboard by classmates.
‘I was bullied for being chubby,’ says Kate. ‘I had, “No one will ever fancy me!"... well into my teens.
'Even now I do not consider myself to be some kind of great, sexy beauty.’
But Kate, 33, who won the Best Actress Academy Award for The Reader, has accepted herself.
'I don’t mind the way I’m ageing,’ she tells Marie Claire. ‘I think I look my age, and that’s fine.
'I don’t think I look younger than 33 and I don’t think I look particularly older than 33. I think I’m sort of holding it together.’
Meanwhile, Kate says she’s annoyed that people don't think she's working-class.
‘Because I speak nice…people think I'm lying,' she adds.
