Morgan Freeman sued over car crash

Passenger Demaris Meyer taking legal action

Morgan announced his split from wife of 24 years, Myrna Colley-Lee, after the crash

Morgan Freeman has been accused of negligence following his car crash last year.

The Dark Knight actor, 71, was travelling with passenger Demaris Meyer when his vehicle flipped over on a highway in Memphis.

The woman is now suing him for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, permanent disability and property damage.

She also insists she's not Morgan's mistress and only met him on the night of the accident at a country club, where they dined with mutual friends. 

‘I have not been able to go back to work and still am suffering both physically and emotionally as a result of the accident,' she said at a press conference.

'I have been labelled as the other woman and have been accused of having caused the break-up of Mr Freeman's marriage. Nothing could be further from the truth.'

A rep for Morgan said: ‘We're confident this will all be resolved.’
