Coronation Street's Maria Connor to give birth on beach
Maria Connor's baby will be delivered on a beach by Coronation Street villain Tony Gordon this summer.
The widow, played by Samia Smith, goes into labour during a romantic day trip with Tony (Grey O'Brien).
Maria and Liam become close when he convinces her he didn't kill her husband Liam Connor.
'At this point Maria and Tony aren't lovers,' an insider tells The Sun.
'But its not long after the baby's born they realise their real feelings.
'Delivering her baby makes Tony a hero in her eyes.'
Tony, who hired men to kill Liam, sets his sights on making Maria and the baby his own family.
