Penelope Cruz: I've never had a card on Valentine's Day

Actress isn’t bothered by the romantic tradition

Penelope Cruz isn’t getting excited about Valentine’s Day.

The actress, who is dating actor Javier Bardem, thinks it’s become too commercial.

‘Valentine's Day cards means nothing to me,’ she says. ‘I have never sent one, and never had one.

'I like to think I have a proper view of love.’

But Penelope, 34, finds it easy to be swept off her feet.

‘I have had so much love in my life, and I am always open to it,’ she tells the Daily Record.

'My father and my mother brought up me and my sister and brother to love and appreciate each other.

'A close family is very important. It can set you up for life.’
