I'm A Celebrity winner upset over leak
Thursday, 5 February 2009
Carol Thatcher's agent thinks the BBC should say sorry to the presenter after she was dropped from The One Show.
The 2005 winner of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! was axed from the programme after referring to a tennis player as a ‘golliwog’ during an off-screen chat.
‘Obviously they know what their agenda is and there is certainly an agenda behind this,’ Ali Gunn tells radio station TalkSport.
‘I would like to say that this comment was made in jest afterwards in the green room over a drink and no one objected to it at the time.
'I think it's absolutely outrageous that the BBC has condoned this leak.
‘They haven't even disciplined the member of staff and frankly we issued a fulsome apology that was rejected by them. But they should be issuing us with an apology.
'I would say that if her name were not Thatcher we wouldn't be talking.’
Carol, 55, has not been banned from the BBC completely.

Ridiculous to drop Carol Thatcher from the One Show. She is one of the best charac ters they have. What about dropping George Galloway for the way he damns Israel on "Talk Sport" I find him very racist!!! M.A. Silver
It is ridiculous. She is great. The BBC is so discriminatory, all the male presenters get away with everything. I hope Carol finds something much more interesting and better paid.
