Kiefer Sutherland's hit series given end date
Saturday, 17 January 2009
Hit US TV show 24, which stars Kiefer Sutherland as terrorist hunter Jack Bauer, is to stop after 8 seasons.
Kiefer, 42, has warned fans that there might not be a happy ending for his character.
'I see Jack as a really human figure and there is something innately tragic about people,' he admits.
'I think there is no winning. We're all going to die. There's something really sad in that, and yet there's something really beautiful and hopeful.'
Producers have hinted that a movie will tie up all the loose ends once the show finishes.

Did the politically correct crowd complain about too much emphasis on terrorism? New series seems tame compared to other seasons. get rid of the lady Prez...she's a dud!
Now, if Keifer takes a lesson from "The Shield" and gives him a bittersweet ending (ie: Vic Mackey avoided prison but lost his family, friends, self-respect and gets stuck in a job he will hate for the next 3 years). Instead of just killing Bauer off in a hailstorm of glory, have his government finally turn on him one last time....
Say it aint so, Jack! Best show ever. Best TV hero ever. I will mourn Jack like a mental patient!
