Rachel Stevens: I was a blubbering wreck after Strictly Come Dancing

Singer was gutted to be runner-up

Rachel Stevens is engaged to Alex Bourne

Rachel Stevens is devastated about losing Strictly Come Dancing.

The singer and partner Vincent Simone lost out to Tom Chambers, 31, and Camilla Dallerup, 34, in the final of the BBC show last month.

Rachel was so distraught that she broke down in tears backstage.

‘Everything was too much,’ she recalls. ‘I bawled – I was a blubbering wreck. My mum said, “You are a winner to me. I can’t tell you how well you’ve done – you’ve inspired me."'

Luckily, Rachel, 30, also had her fiancé Alex Bourne, 31, on hand to console her.

‘Alex was the same,’ she tells a teen mag. ‘He took me away and gave me a big hug.’
