Terri Seymour: Simon Cowell offered me a terrapin instead of a baby

But US presenter's in no rush to be a mum

Simon Cowell and his ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour have remained friends

Simon Cowell didn't want kids with ex Terri Seymour so he offered to buy her an unusual pet instead.

The TV presenter and The X Factor judge were together for five years.

'He used to tell me that if I wanted children, he’d buy me a terrapin,’ she says. ‘But I don’t want a terrapin, or a baby. Not right now.

'I’m only 34. I don’t need to panic. And I’m not heartbroken in the slightest.’

Terri, who split with Simon, 49, earlier this year, is still full of ambition.

‘In the States I’m really well known, and not just for being Simon’s ex-girlfriend,’ she tells the Sunday Mirror.

‘It will be nice when I am recognised as a star in my own right in the UK.’
