Actor Joe Swash has triumphed on ITV1's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The former EastEnders star, 26, was voted king of the jungle, with former Wimbledon tennis champion Martina Navratilova in second place and Star Trek actor George Takei coming third.

Singer David Van Day was voted off the show last night, leaving the popular trio to sweat it out.

Joe is the 8th winner of the series - last year Christopher Biggins won the viewers' hearts.

'My friends and family are just looking forward to seeing me in really awkward positions,' Joe said before setting off for his adventure.

'Because I’m a bit of a practical joker and play tricks on my mum and my friends, I think they see this as a payback for me. I think they’re going to thoroughly enjoy seeing me squirm.

'I can’t stand rats or snakes or anything like that. I’m dreading the Bushtucker Trials.'
