GMTV host says it's insulting to think they hate each other

Fiona Phillips is leaving GMTV at the end of the year

Fiona Phillips has rubbished reports of a rivalry with her GMTV co-host Kate Garraway.

‘It’s absolute bollocks and I’d rather not dignify it by talking about it,’ she says. ‘It’s insulting to both of us.

'We’re both 2 professional women and mums with big lives and big jobs. As if we’ve got time to be at each other’s throats.'

Fiona, 47, says she’s actually very close to Kate, 41.  

‘I was at her wedding,’ she says. ‘When she was pregnant, I bought her loads of presents.

‘I phoned Kate up about [the press reports] and thankfully we laughed about it. We know exactly what goes on and we’re both sick to death of it.’
