Singer takes home Artist Of The Year gong

Chris Brown is dating Rihanna

Chris Brown was the big winner at last night’s American Music Awards in LA.

The singer, 19, was named the top male artist in the soul/R&B and pop/rock categories and scooped the prestigious Artist Of The Year gong.

‘I would have give it to Coldplay - I'm at a loss for words,’ Chris said as he collected the prize.

Other winners included Kanye West, 31, Rihanna, 20, and Alicia Keys, 27, who all took home 2 awards each.

Beyonce Knowles, 27, Annie Lennox, Pussycat Dolls, Coldplay, Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus, 15, all performed at the annual ceremony.
