Jim Branning to return to EastEnders

Actor John Bardon to make special appearance on BBC soap

John Bardon suffered a stroke in June 2007

John Bardon has filmed scenes for a one-off appearance in EastEnders.

The actor, 69, played Jim Branning in the soap until suffering a stroke last year.

John returned briefly in August this year for his birthday episode - which was watched by over 8.5 million people.

‘He came back not long ago and he's done 2 episodes so far,’ co-star June Brown let slip on Larnarkshire FM.

‘We have a bit of a laugh and I think it'll be nice.’

June, 81, plays John’s on-screen wife Dot Branning.
