Girls Aloud were formed on ITV show Popstars: The Rivals

Girls Aloud are set to appear in their own seasonal variety show on ITV.

The singers, Cheryl Cole, 25, Nadine Coyle, 23, Sarah Harding, 26, Nicola Roberts, 23 and Kimberley Walsh, 26, will sing, dance and even show off their acting skills in comedy sketches.

‘This year has been great for us and what better way to round it off than a festive special,’ Sarah Harding tells The Sun. ‘The show will be a Girls Aloud Christmas party and loads of fun.’

The band recently topped the charts with their single The Promise and Cheryl is currently impressing audiences on The X Factor.

‘They want people to see another side of them which is why they've agreed to do the show,’ says a source.

'They have more ambitions than just singing and this is a great showcase for them. Sarah in particular wants to be an actress.'
