Angry Adrian White blames false stories for ruining her chances

The dad of The X Factor’s Laura White - eliminated in Saturday night's show - says she'd become the victim of a vicious campaign to stop her from winning.
After the 21-year-old student got through to the live finals, 3 damaging stories circulated in the tabloids tarnishing her public image.
‘There was one story saying Laura’s dating an X Factor executive. She’s not,’ dad Adrian, 50, a builder’s merchant from Bolton, tells Now.
‘Another story appeared in the papers saying she was under contract to Matt Aitken [a producer who worked with Pete Waterman as part of Stock, Aitken and Waterman], but she isn’t.
‘Then there was another story saying she was going to walk out of the show because she was homesick. She may have been a little homesick, but she’s not a quitter.’
Each of the rumours has had a thread of truth. Laura’s reported to be dating businessman Mathew Firsht, 38, who runs the company that provides audiences to attend live recordings of shows such as The X Factor. Sources at the ITV1 show confirm, however, that Mathew has no influence on the programme.
Laura was briefly signed with Matt Aitken – but that was 5 years ago. ‘He signed her when she was 16,’ says Adrian. ‘They didn’t put out any singles and he shelved his interest because other projects came up.
‘And as for walking out, that’s absurd. I’ve never known anyone so determined.'
Laura was clearly shocked to leave The X Factor on Saturday and couldn't speak to host Dermot O'Leary. Her dad will be devastated, too.

Amazing that Laura was in the bottom two, more amazing that Simon and Louis then tactically voted her off. I thought they were interested in finding a talent that would sell records. Sadly, the British Public is voting for someone who has no chance whatsoever in a million years (in Louis' words) of winning the competition. Though Danny was much improved - still awful.
Glad Laura is out she lost my vote along with millions of others that's why she was bottom 2 the judges and the public clearly lost all respect for her regardless how good her voice was.
Absolute big mistake, Louis Walsh should get off the show i think this were a personal greivance against Laura due to the comment that Cheryl made against Westlife get a grip Louis, it a real shame Cheryl Cole had the 3 best singers in the competition. Not all 3 could win but they should have been the final 3. I just hope Laura persues a career - would love to hear more from her.
It was tactical voting by Simon & Louie, she was a threat to both their acts! Louie WAS getting back at Cheryl as she said not to make JLS like Westlife and he did not like it called her Litle Miss Showbiz. Peevish little man. Don't like him now!
I think this was a personal attack on Cheryl.I was a fan of Louis not anymore (westlife are not the band in the world and he should stop idolising them). Cheryl does have the best singers but i bet another will go next week cos of the pathetic arguing. Ruth only went through cos of her dress (just like last time show boobs get through). Louis said he was putting the one who had more fight left more like the one whos mentor wont argue with him as much. I was so angry on sat. Good Luck Laura with the future hopefully u will be a star.
