He loses to Rachel Hylton in the sing-off
Sunday, 2 November 2008
Austin Drage was booted off The X Factor last night in the 4th live show.
The former boy band member sang the Rose Royce hit Wishing On A Star (written by Billie Rae Calvin) in Disco Music Week but Louis Walsh felt his didn't connect with the public and lacked 'likeability'.
Dannii Minogue said that he needed to show he was enjoying himself more and Cheryl Cole advised Austin to display more emotion.
The public weren't overwhelmed with his performance either and Austin ended up in the bottom 2 with gutsy mum-of-5 Rachel Hylton.
In the sing-off, the 21-year-old sang Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow by Gerry Goffin and Carole King to fight for his place but it wasn't enough.
Simon Cowell voted to keep him in the competition but Cheryl and Dannii were more impressed by Rachel, leaving the final decision to Louis.
He decided 'raw talent' Rachel deserved a 2nd chance.

I cant believe Austin went out over RACHEL ! He is so much of a better singer than she is and they've given her chance after chance i think she shouldv'e gone last night after her poor performence. Anyway Diana to win !
IM DEVASTATED ABOUT THIS AND I I CANT AWATCH IT ANYMORE AND I ALSO HEAR THAT VIEWERS ARE COMPLAINING THAT THEY COULD NOT GET THROUGH TO VOTE FOR HIM. WHAT DOES THAT SAY HEY?

1 lucky reader will win a DVD player plus a copy of the DVD. 5 runners-up will get a copy of the DVD!
