Couple struggle to keep viewers
Tuesday, 28 October 2008
Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan’s new TV show has lost over three quarters of its viewers in just 3 weeks.
Richard And Judy’s New Position originally attracted an audience of 100,000 when it launched on UKTV Watch at the beginning of the month.
But figures fell to 21,000 last Monday.
Channel controller Matthew Littleford defended the couple.
‘It's a great show - well made, full of the inimitable Richard and Judy magic and a very high calibre of guests,’ he tells the Daily Mirror.
‘We're confident ratings will rise.’

Dear Sirs, 8th March 2009 RE: Richard and Judy Madeley. I would love very much this message to be passed to this lovely couple. I admire them since they started their joint presentation in "This Morning" and this programme have never been the same since they left. I also admire their very deep honesty with the public and with themselves. It is fantastic to watch. The sensitivity of Judy must bring her so much pain from the media towards her and towards her family. Bless her. Thanks God Richard seems to be very supportive and loyal human being. I hope the press leave them alone and act towards them with more respect and humanity. It makes me very angry to see photos of Judy on the irresponsible news papers that are very unkind and ignorants. They obviously don't have a clue of the hurt they cause. If Richard and Judy's funs feel heart when seeing these pictures or hearing these commentaries, they must kill them inside. I wish very much happiness to Richard and Judy. They truly deserve it. And as for the news papers and people who make bad commentaries or criticism about them, I hope they get what they deserve in life and after. Yours sincerely, Jenny Rubie
