Girls Aloud gets revenge on judges who dismissed her friend
Thursday, 23 October 2008
Cheryl Cole plans to prove her fellow X Factor judges wrong – by helping one of the singers they rejected.
The 25-year-old Girls Aloud star was in tears when Nikk Mager, who appeared with her on 2002 TV show Popstars The Rivals, wasn't put through to boot camp.
But with Cheryl's help Nikk, 24, has recorded an album and his debut single Always Come Back To You is released on Monday.
‘I'm very excited about my single,’ he tells Peter Dyke at the Daily Star. ‘And Girls Aloud have been amazingly supportive.’
Cheryl, who refused to judge her friend, was horrified when Simon told Nikk: ‘It’s time to stop chasing the dream.’
‘I felt let down by The X Factor,’ Nikk says. ‘Now I'm hoping I can show those judges they were wrong.’
