Daniel Craig has admitted that he refused to light up for new James Bond film Quantum Of Solace.
The original script called for 007 to smoke in several scenes.
But Daniel, 40, asked film bosses to take it out because he wanted to be in peak condition for his stunts.
‘I don’t wish for him to smoke,’ he says. ‘Ian Fleming wrote a Bond who smoked 60 cigarettes a day. I can’t do that and then run 2½ miles down a road - it just doesn’t tie in.’
But Daniel says he’s not opposed to sipping alcohol on-screen.
‘The drinking’s there, the Dutch courage,’ he tells the Mail On Sunday. ‘It’s the cocktail I had last time, the Vesper.
'I can only do a few of them, it's a heavy drink - 2 parts vodka, 2 parts gin, then a measure of Kina Lillet. We had shakers and played around with the measures.’
Quantum Of Solace is out now.
