Singer finally confirms her marriage to Jay-Z

Beyoncé and Jay-Z like to keep their relationship private

Beyoncé Knowles has at last acknowledged her wedding to hip-hop artist Jay-Z – 6 months after they tied the knot in a secret ceremony in New York.

They married on the 4 April and both have a tattoo with the Roman numeral IV on their wedding fingers.

The star claims that she didn’t want an engagement ring because she thinks they’re unnecessary.

‘People put too much emphasis on that,’ she tells Essence. ‘It’s just material and it’s just silly to me.’

However, last month Beyoncé began wearing a £5million Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring.

When asked why they kept the wedding secret, she says: ‘I’m not a traditional woman. I didn’t want the drama.

‘We’ve been together a long time. We always knew it would happen.’
