Roxanne Pallett: I've put on 1st in the past year

Emmerdale actress says domestic abuse storyline has taken its toll

Roxanne Pallett is happy with her curvier figure

Roxanne Pallet has revealed that she's gone from a tiny size 6 to a dress size 10.

The Emmerdale actress, who has been single since splitting with Richard Fleeshman last year, says the break-up combined with filming emotionally draining scenes on the soap are responsible.

Roxanne, 25, who plays Jo Sugden in the ITV show, is at the centre of a harrowing domestic abuse storyline.

‘Instead of going home to my boyfriend I now go home to a tub of Ben & Jerry's ice cream,’ she says.

‘I'm working 12 hours a day doing emotionally draining scenes. To deal with it I've been treating myself to crisps or chocolate on set and puddings when I get home.'

But the actress is worried about the weight gain.

‘I'm not too bothered. A size 10 is hardly huge. But I'd like to lose it in the New Year so I can fit back into my clothes!’
