Sex And The City is 'fastest selling DVD of the year'

Chick flick shifts nearly 1million copies in a week

The SATC movie premiered in London

Sex And The City: The Movie is the UK’s fastest selling DVD of the year so far.

The film, starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davis, sold 920,000 copies in its opening week.

It also beat Ratatouille's first week sales figures, which peaked at 700,000.

Titanic holds the record for the fastest selling DVD, according to the Official Charts Company, whose records go back 14 years.

The Ridley Scott movie, starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, shifted 2.3million in the first week.
