Rachel Stevens: I cancelled my wedding for Strictly Come Dancing

Singer put her marriage to Alex Bourne on hold for the ballroom show

Rachel Stevens has known Alex Bourne since their school days

Rachel Stevens says her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing meant postponing her nuptials with fiancé Alex Bourne.

She says they had planned to marry this autumn but she couldn’t bear to turn down a stint on the ballroom show.

‘I did think about trying to squeeze in a wedding during the show, but there was just no way,' she says. 'It will have to wait until the show has ended.’

Rachel, 30, also admits that all the hard work rehearsing each week has its benefits.

‘I get in from training and Alex runs me a nice hot bath with loads of bubbles and scented candles,’ she tells Sunday Express magazine.

‘I’ve been using muscles I never knew I had so he’s been helping me relax with a nice massage.’
