Bill Bailey quits Never Mind The Buzzcocks

Comedian leaves after 6 years on quiz show

Bill Bailey is an avid Trekkie and even named his son Dax, after a character in Star Trek: Deep Space 9

Bill Bailey has quit his role as team captain on hit panel show Never Mind The Buzzcocks.

The 44-year-old comedian, who has been on the show for 11 seasons, has left due to other work commitments.

‘After 11 series selflessly, heroically and hilariously captaining one side on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, other commitments have sadly led to Bill Bailey being unable to take part in the forthcoming series of the hit comedy pop quiz,’ a show spokesman reveals.

A host of celebrity guests will fill the role of team captain when the show returns to BBC2, including Mark Ronson, Frank Skinner, Dermot O'Leary, Jack Dee, Johnny Vegas and Bob Mortimer.
