Michelle Ryan hoped Bionic Woman would launch her career in LA

Michelle Ryan has given up on her dream to crack America after her TV show was cancelled after just 8 episodes.

The former EastEnders star went to the US after landing a role in Bionic Woman. But it failed to make an impact on US audiences so she's come back to the UK.

‘I don’t want to do another TV series in the States,’ she tells The Sun. 'I like my freedom to jump between jobs and travel and I couldn’t do that if I stayed over there.’

But Michelle, 24, who is starring in new BBC drama Merlin, doesn’t regret taking the risk.

‘I was under no illusions when I took the job and I had an amazing time doing it,’ she says. ‘It’s just the way it works over there.’
